Antipodes Aura Honey Mask

A couple of months ago I was having one of those days when I just felt a little run down and tired. I was at the mall getting my nails done and did my usual check-in at Farmers to see if Antipodes was on sale. It wasn’t BUT I knew I had a $20 voucher from their Beauty Club loyalty program so I decided to treat myself to the Aura Manuka Honey Mask.

I hadn’t heard much about it but I knew being Antipodes, I would most likely love it. I also was aware of the antibacterial benefits of Manuka Honey since Antipodes use it in other products of theirs.

antipodes-aura-manuka-honey-mask-75ml-2347A traditional Maori remedy, Manuka Honey draws moisture to the skin and results in your face being intensely moisturised, nourished and cleansed. Not only is it great as a mask, especially if you are prone to acne, but you can also use it as a spot treatment!

Have you ever noticed how if you get that chemical laced Clearasil spot cream on a towel or item of clothing, it bleaches it?! Now why the heck would you want to put that on your face?

I’ve used the Aura Mask several times now at night, dabbing a tiny bit onto a inflamed pimple. I was really impressed how it had gone down by morning and made me resist the urge to pop it. Sure, it’s not a miracle worker and you won’t wake up with the skin of a 5 year old, but it definitely can help!

The Aura Manuka Honey Mask has pure plant fragrances of Vanilla Pod and and Mandarin and like all Antipodes, smells divine. Use once a week or even twice if you are really prone to blemishes- Apply to clean skin, leave for 15 mins and rinse with warm water.

If you are used to super thick, chunky masks, then be aware that the Aura isn’t like that it all. It reminds me of condensed milk in colour and the consistency is more akin to a cream cleanser. However it still does the job!

Because of the super hydrating properties of this mask, it’s also great for anyone who suffers from dryness on their skin.

The Aura Mask retails for NZ$50.10 on the Antipodes website and to all my Kiwi readers, I’d recommend purchasing all your Antipodes from Farmers so you can get your Beauty Club Points.

Now, if you are suffering from the dreaded pimples, put down the chemicals! Antipodes products have natural active ingredients to aid in clearing the skin. Try the Juliet Skin Brightening Cleanser which once again has Manuka Honey but also the highly anti-oxidant rich Vinanza Grape. For a moisturiser, I love the Rejoice Light Facial Day Cream which also has Manuka Honey and the collagen boosting powers of avocado oil.
