I have a major love for pastels and recently come to absolutely adore mint green. It feels so fresh and youthful but still with a air of elegance and sophistication.
The Unique Vintage Garden State Dress in Mint with White Polka Dots immediately caught my eye with it’s delicate mesh material, subtle polka dots and cute sleeves.
Being someone who gets dressed up on a daily basis, it’s nice to have a selection of items that are a little more dressy than my day-to-day wear but not totally evening wear.
The Garden State Dress is just that- too much for me to wear to work but perfect for High Tea, a wedding or Sunday lunch. It could also still work as a prom dress or for fancy night of cocktails!
I’ve tried a few Unique Vintage dresses over the years and generally I’m a size medium if there’s no stretch to accommodate my 36″ bust. This dress is no different and the medium fit really well and was quite snug in the bust.
The Garden State Dress features a fully lined, boned bodice which is great but it does mean that there is zero room to size down. I’d say that the size chart is true to size but if you are inbetween, size up to insure it won’t be too small. The bust has a slight sweetheart neckline and subtle mesh pleating.
The sleeves are probably my favourite part of this dress and I love that you can either spread the fabric out to create a cap sleeve look, or place them right up on your shoulder. They connect at the back to a create a V shape which is a lovely added touch!
The only issue is that because there is no stretch to the material, arm movement is restricted if you have the sleeves pulled down.
The Garden State Dress has a built in petticoat (a little scratchy but easily remedied by wearing a slip) and layers of sheer mesh.
Thank you ever so much to Elizabeth J Photography for once again producing a fabulous set of photos and for the owner of these two glorious cars! The Garden State Dress proved perfect for time travelling back to 1955 in the DeLorean 😉
