Floral prints more often than not, tend to lend themselves to summer wear over winter. It’s no wonder why, the typical bright flowers bring about happy thoughts of blue skies and summer sun.
As much as I love these kinds of florals, I also adore the darker, more autumn or winter appropriate florals that aren’t so common.
It’s for this reason, that I couldn’t resist the Hepburn Forest Seville Dress by The Pretty Dress Company. The deep green background with pinks, yellows and orange, combined with the half sleeves makes the perfect winter floral dress.
The Hepburn is made from the same high quality stretch cotton sateen that I’ve come to love from The Pretty Dress Company. Several of their dress styles are made from the same fabric and it has a lovely weight to it and feels amazing to wear. I found the stretch to be quite minimal in the Hepburn compared to other styles I’ve tried, mainly due to the lining in the bust.
I’m wearing the size 10 which according to the size chart, caters for a 35.5″ bust and 28″ waist. I’m 36″ in the bust and the Hepburn fits tight, so I would say it runs true to the chart. I also find the sleeves very tight and probably should have sized up to a 12 for a more comfortable fit. I love the high (but not too high!) neckline, V shape at the back, fitted panel at the waist and full skirt.
With the beautiful array of colours in the print, I chose to highlight the pink by accessorising with a pink belt, petticoat and hair flowers. I was also ecstatic to discover that my beautiful green Miss L Fire shoes match perfectly, especially with their amber colour bow and heel details.
